The official residence of the Lieutenant Governor, at 10 Kennedy Street, was built in 1883 by the Dominion Government for $23,995 and transferred to the Province for $1 “as residence for the Lieutenant Governor, and for no other purpose.” It has been home to 22 Lieutenant Governors since 1883 and also serves as Manitoba’s ceremonial residence where the Lieutenant Governor hosts many events, honouring and recognizing Manitobans. Tours will start at 11:00 a.m. and will last 20 minutes with a maximum of 20 – 25 people per tour and will depart the front door of Government House every 10 minutes. The last tour will depart at 3:40 p.m.
