The official residence of the Lieutenant Governor, at 10 Kennedy Street, was built in 1883 by the Dominion Government for $23,995 and transferred to the Province for $1 “as residence for the Lieutenant Governor, and for no other purpose.” It has been home to 22 Lieutenant Governors since 1883 and also serves as Manitoba’s ceremonial residence where the Lieutenant Governor hosts many events, honouring and recognizing Manitobans.

Guided tours will run throughout the day, lasting 20 minutes, maximum 25 participants per tour, departing from the front door of Government House.
