The St. Norbert Arts Centre, a cultural, historical and environmental focal point for people from all walks of life. Its seclusion allows for quiet contemplation while still close to the Winnipeg urban environment. We honour this land from the ancient grounds of the Ojibway people, when the LaSalle River was formerly the banks of the Assiniboine 2000+ years ago. We hold strong to our roots in St. Norbert as the birthplace of a thriving Métis people leading to the historic events of LaBarrière and the Riel Resistance. Our home, L’Hotellerie or Guest House was built in the late 19th century by the silent Cistercian order of Trappist Monks from LaTrappe, France who built a thriving agricultural community of prayer and self-sufficiency through the early 20th century.
Come and experience the historical building with guided tours. You will also have an opportunity to walk the beautiful inspirational grounds and enjoy the Springtide Artisan Market and a featured Manitoba artist Naomi Gerrard display on the main floor in the Gallery. For more information about their scheduled times please check out our website.
Guided tours will start at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm on Saturday and Sunday, lasting 30 minutes, maximum 15 participants.
