Upper Fort Garry Provincial Park is the actual site where in 1870 the Assembly of Assiniboia made the decision to form the Province of Manitoba and enter the confederacy of Canada! This is your opportunity to discover, using art, interpretation and technology this historical site and its importance to Manitoba and Canada (part of the Grade 5 & 11 curriculum). Learn about the ribbon of history that speaks to the many voices of our history from thousands of years ago to today! And don’t forget to stay for the five minute sound and light show on the 400 foot Heritage Wall!
To help keep everyone safe, wearing a face mask is appreciated and social distancing is mandatory.
Presentations will start at 11:00am, 12:00pm and 1:00pm. Presentations will be 30 minutes in length with a maximum of 30 guests.
Preregistration is required for all presentations! Click here to preregister! Preregistration will open Friday, September 4th at noon. A link to preregister will be made available here just prior to preregistration opening.
In regards to the weather forecast: Outdoor events will go on as scheduled if there is light rain. Outdoor events will be cancelled if there are heavy downpours or thunderstorms. Cancellations will NOT be posted.
